Sudeley Castle, near Winchcombe, is steeped in tradition and royal connections. The home of Lord and Lady Ashcroft, the manor of Sudeley once belonged to King Ethelred the Unready. But Ethelred was only the first of a long series of monarchs and other royalty to visit Sudeley.

is surrounded by 20 acres of grounds which are now complemented by its newly partly restored baroque water garden. This is one of the finest in Britain with pyramid cascade ( not restored), upper pond, waterfall, grand canal and 300 foot high fountain from June ( superb ). Broadway Tower is one of England's outstanding viewpoints. It is possible to survey an area which includes as many as thirteen counties. The views encompass the Vales of Evesham and Gloucester. On a clear day you may also see across the Severn Valley as far as the Welsh mountains and beyond.
